During Fashion Week, these trends were burning down the runway. These trends are the opposite of last year’s mini bag craze and “quiet luxury” with chunky hardware and larger silhouettes.
Of course, most of the brands that debuted these styles were of the luxury variety and in this current economy, some of us do not have the funds or desire to spend luxury fashion prices.
Utility Bags: These are your go-to bags for everyday errands and adventures. Think roomy compartments to fit all your stuff, like a wallet, phone, water bottle, and maybe even a spare pair of shoes. Coach and Prada both make great utility bags, but with different vibes. Coach is known for its classic leather bags with a touch of heritage design, perfect for the office or grabbing brunch with friends. Prada tends to be more modern and sleek, with a focus on functionality and high-quality materials.
Hobo/Slouchy Bags: If you love a laid-back, carefree style, then a hobo or slouchy bag is for you. These bags are all about that relaxed, can’t-be-bothered vibe. YSL, TOTEM, and Mansur Gavriel all have great options. YSL’s are typically a bit more rock-and-roll, while TOTEM and Mansur Gavriel lean towards clean lines and minimalism.
Woven Bags: Woven bags are having a major moment right now. They’re perfect for adding a touch of texture and summery feel to any outfit. Loewe, Celine, Bottega Veneta, and Tory Burch all make beautiful woven bags, but in different styles. Loewe and Bottega Veneta are known for their intricate leather weaving, while Celine and Tory Burch offer more relaxed woven styles, sometimes incorporating straw or raffia.
Bucket Bags: Bucket bags are like the fun, carefree cousin of the tote bag. They come in all shapes and sizes, but they all have a cinch closure at the top. Dior, Loewe, YSL, Chloe, Mansur Gavriel, and Tory Burch all have cute bucket bags. Dior’s tend to be on the more luxurious side, while the others offer a range of styles from playful to classic.
