Today’s edition of Silver Linings Sunday is short and sweet, but I hope it brightens your day and puts you in a good headspace for the week ahead.
Instead of dwelling on what we perceive as flaws, let’s shift our focus to celebrating what our bodies can do. Our bodies are strong, resilient, and allow us to experience the world in incredible ways. They heal from injuries, allow us to move with grace or power, and for some, even create works of art.
After suffering with infertility for several years, I am forever grateful that my body allowed me to get pregnant through one round of IVF. I am also thankful I had a happy and healthy full-term pregnancy. My body allowed me to complete our family.

Think about the amazing things your body has accomplished, big or small. Maybe you ran a marathon, carried a child, or simply woke up this morning with the strength to face a new day.
Taking time each day to appreciate what our bodies do for us can cultivate a sense of self-compassion and well-being. Consider starting a gratitude journal to write down the things you appreciate about your body, or simply take a moment each morning to silently thank it for all it does. Remember, self-kindness is essential for a happy and fulfilling life.
Now, it’s your turn. What’s one thing you appreciate about your body? Tell me in the comments.
